I Don’t Feel So Bad Anymore

Apparently San Jose lost?  So Washington isn’t the only top seed that didn’t win!  I feel slightly relieved.

So, last night I watched the Blackhawks game with Cari and Kim at Clare’s house.  The ‘Hawks won, good times were had, and Adam Burish was selected as my new Blackhawks Boyfriend because I don’t love enough guys as it is/I need a Blackhawks boyfriend.  I have no problems with this relationship.

I had kind of hopped on the Blue Jackets’ bandwagon when they were trying to make the playoffs, but, uh, I sort of hopped back off after watching the first period of last night’s game and seeing the final score.  Sorry, Columbus.  It was a lot of fun while it lasted.  Better luck next year.  (Although I did point out that if for some crazy reason the Blue Jackets were to beat Detroit and at some point face San Jose, it would be hilarious because R.J. Umberger would die from terror.  I honestly believe that he got traded to the western conference because he didn’t want to deal with Campbell anymore, and then Soupy signed with Chicago…poor thing.)

Boston beat Montreal, no surprises there.

So, a while back I mentioned how Alex informed us in an interview that he, Michael, and Nicklas had something crazy planned for their hair in the playoffs.  I proceeded spending way too much time trying to figure out if they would shave it all off (please, no.  All that long blond hair!) or mohawk it (please, no.  I wouldn’t be able to look at them without cracking up) or just dye it all red.  Then the playoffs started, and other than Michael’s ridiculous mohawk nothing really seemed to have happened.  I had noticed, however, that it kind of looked like Michael had some sort of red stripe running down the middle of his head, and sure enough, that’s what they did.  Nicklas also has a crazy red stripe.  (Thanks to everyone who informed me of this little detail.)  Guys, this is what my brother and his friends did when they were all six years old.  They would walk around with a stripe of colored spiking gel running down their heads.  Nicklas Backstrom, you kill me.

Pittsburgh vs. Philadelphia, Game 2 is tonight, and if Philadelphia actually remembers to show up for this one, it could be good.

P.S.  The article in TBN today about Chris Butler, who has captured the hearts of women across Buffalo, was adorable.  I love me a man with impeccable manners.

P.P.S.  There’s also an article about Michael in Sports Illustrated this week, complete with a ridiculous picture.  Even if you never read this article, there’s one thing you need to know.  Michael Green used to be a world class sheep rider.  Yes, you heard me right.  Sheep rider.
