Pictures! (And A Reason To Get Excited!!)

I uploaded my pictures from the game, and I’m going to warn you now: some are blurry (but I’ll try to weed those out.  Which means you won’t get any of Crunchy and Petey by the net. [But rest assured, they were there like always]).  I was FREEZING, and I may or may not have been a little jittery from excitement.

I decided that I definitely like the new center ice logo.  I think I’m going to have to get a shirt with the original logo on it. I get the feeling that they’re trying to phase out the slug (and as long as we don’t go back to the goat, I think I’m okay with that).

As you can see in this picture, Rob Ray wants us to think that he can write.   Rob, I’ve skimmed your autobiography/memoir thingie.  You can not write.  I’m sorry.

(On the one where I managed to zoom in and catch him looking up, one of the overzealous Habs fans next to me decided to bump me.  I gave him a very dirty look)

And I may or may not have squealed like a little girl and jumped up and down and whirled around to gesture wildly at my mom (who was in her seat reading the program) when Crunchy came out.  And since she knows it’s wisest to humor me when we’re at hockey games, she nodded and gave me a thumbs-up.

Alexei Kovalev is a total retard and kept skating in the way whenever I was trying to take a picture.  An adorable shot of Royzie and Petey standing together on the blue line was ruined thanks to him.

And he wouldn’t let me get a shot of his face.

Frostee’s train of thought:  Whoa!  Zoom out!!!

This next one is the reason to get excited:

No, I’m not suddenly in love with Sergei, if that’s what you’re thinking.  (Although I had no problem with his decision to plop down right in front of me and start stretching)  This picture made me all excited and squeal-y because I wasn’t using zoom.  That was how close Mr. Kostitsyn was to me, and do you know what that means, Dear Readers?  In one day shy of three weeks, Alex Ovechkin will be that close to me.  Without the zoom.

P.S.  My mom and I were discussing the sign I plan on making for the game, and we decided that the likelihood of him actually agreeing to sign my hat during the warm-up depends on how “in the zone” he gets before games.  I’m assuming that he doesn’t get all serious and whatnot, since I’ve seen pictures of him chewing gum (he’s really good at blowing bubbles) and sticking his tongue out and stuff, but I have not been able to confirm.  Has anybody reading this seen him play live before?  (BTW, if you have, I totally hate you and think you are the luckiest bastard on the planet)  Does he seem like the kind of guy that would go along with it if an attractive, sincere high school girl asked him to sign her Caps hat?  I will have a Sharpie on hand (because as Caitlin pointed out when I told her my diabolical plan “He’s not gonna have a marker with him while he’s warming up”), and I will even be wearing my Miller t-shirt.  I just think it would be so awesome if he did.  *swoons at the thought*

  1. I did see Ovie… once, I believe. Kim and I went down to Tampa for a few days this past spring break and went to a Lightning/Caps game. We weren’t close at all, though; up in the nosebleeds. Funny story, though: We both wore Sabres shirts, and there was a guy sitting right behind us with a Sabres windbreaker on…
